  • Organizational formation
    • Assist in the CON process
    • Manage the formation of the organizational structure for the Surgery Center
    • Develop the financing model and obtain the project financing

    • Oversee the selection of the development team members including the architect, general contractor, interior designer and equipment consultant
    • Oversee the facility design and lay-out to result in an appropriately sized, and efficient center

Hospital Surgery Center Conversion Services

NSC has extensive experience in converting hospital owned ASCs to freestanding joint ventures with physicians. NSC works closely with its physician and hospital partners in the design and implementation of the transition plan. As your partner, NSC will facilitate the entire transition of systems from those of a hospital department to a free-standing joint venture owned facility including the following:

  • Marketing and syndication
    • Evaluate feasibility and prepare pro forma financial analyses to determine optimum ownership structure and case mix
    • Market shares to physicians and manage the entire syndication process
    • Coordinate legal process from initial concept through to executed operating agreement
    • Develop the financing model and submit requests for proposals recommending best option
  • Licensure certification and accreditation
    • Complete all required applications and scheduling for state licensing and Medicare certification and accreditation
    • Coordinate the Certificate of Need applications process in applicable states
  • Staffing
    • Identify need and work through hospital union issues
    • Develop a competitive employment package for the freestanding center’s staff
    • Recruit critical staff to new entity
    • Orient the staff to perform in a non-hospital environment
  • Systems
    • Establish a business office including the accounting, medical records, human resources, credentialing and information systems
    • Negotiate and analyze payor contracts in collaboration with hospital administration for the ASC
    • Provide credentialing, quality improvement, peer review, risk management and clinical protocols
    • Create independent Materials Management system
